Earlier today, Wilco de Kreij released Connectio Connect Explore update dealing with the decision of Facebook to stop sharing certain data. The ability to see targeted interests were at stake.
I wanted to share this update with those that may not be on his email list. Since Connect Explore is my go to research for Facebook interest targeting, I am on top of his updates as much as possible.
So, here is the update I received about Connectio Connect Explore (part of the Connectio Suite). Some information may be parsed as it is not relevant.
It’s been 2 weeks since my last email about Connect Explore. Time for another update!
As you might know, Facebook recently made a sudden change on their API which affected one of Connect Explore’s features.
Since that time, a LOT has happened!
Our main goal is to increase our customers’ ROAS in ways that’s simply not possible with JUST the Facebook Ads Manager.
So, when Facebook ‘announced’ the change…
… we put ourselves to work 💪
To give you an idea of the last few weeks:
🤓Spent countless hours on the FB API to explore options
💸Ran many new Facebook Ads to experiment what’s working best (and what not)
👩Extended our development team to build things faster
✈️Flew to India to meet with our development team
☕️Drank WAYYYY too much coffee (and not enough sleep)

A soon-to-be released update that’s WAYYY better than what we had before!! 🔥
Right now, you’re probably wondering…
“That’s cool and all, Wilco… but WHEN do I get the update… and WHAT does it even do?!”
Let’s dive into that.
Phase 1: Initial release of a new feature (ETA: 2-4 weeks)
Although we were already working on Connect Explore “2.0” (see below), we’ve decided to put that on hold for now… so we can have an initial release of this new feature ready ASAP.
At the moment, we’re already running various tests and things are looking good! I expect this new feature to be ready in 2-4 weeks time.
I can’t reveal all the details just yet… But I can tell you that once this update is live, you’ll be able to discover how your individual interests are performing.
And no… not just for the past 7 days – wink wink 😉

Phase 2: Connect Explore “2.0” (ETA: unknown)
We’ve been working on a new version of Connect Explore that we refer to as “2.0”.
Essentially, we’re re-building Connect Explore from the ground up to make sure it’s more effective than ever.
Due to the sudden change, we’re prioritizing the initial release of the new feature into the current version of Connect Explore.
Once that’s live, we’ll take the lessons & feedback we get from the initial release, and continue working on Connect Explore 2.0 again.
At the moment, it’s impossible to share a realistic ETA, though.
(And YES, all Connect Explore customers get a free upgrade, of course :)).
