Keep Your Word And Follow Up

keep your word and follow up

One of the best ways to attract and keep customers is to keep your word and follow up. When your team interacts with prospects and customers be sure to ask if it would be OK to stay in touch via email.

How many times has someone said they would do ________ (fill in the blank) and it never happened? This is the quickest way to turn off your customers. You MUST follow through and provide over the top communications with everyone you meet.

How do you follow up on a regular basis and stay in touch? Email and Social Media platforms. If you have read our previous posts you know that Email is our favorite and most reliable asset you own. For instance, we mentioned that our favorite autoresponder system has the best deliver metrics.

What do you follow up with that makes a big impact? Send out opportunities to come back into your business. Think coupons, buy one get one, discounts, free item with visiting your place or [your pick]. As a result, it doesn’t really matter what you send out, just keep communicating.

Your autoresponder system should be filled up with “evergreen” content that will last a year once it is created. At a minimum, once a week works great to keep your business in their minds.

What is “evergreen” content?

Evergreen content is postings, offers or events that do not depend on the month, season, current events, etc. An offer to come in for a July 4th savings event will not work if it gets delivered in October via an autoresponder.

What does work is a “discount” for whatever amount that expires “this month”. Therefore, whatever month they read your post, it is “this month”. It could be listed as “expires in 30 days”. Be creative and think in the customer’s mind what they would think if a post came to them at any day of the year. Does it make sense? The more you do, the better you will get at it.

Furthermore, it is vitally important that whatever you say you are going to do, keep your word and follow up.
